The PFNT Facility is a coherent set of exploration tools in neurobiology allowing research at the molecular, cellular and integrated levels.
Laurie Arnaud (Neural Plasticity and Degeneration, Team 1 & Stem cells, Disease modeling and Neuroregeneration, Team 6) successfully defended her thesis on the 29th of September 2021. The jury was unanimous to acknowledge Laurie's hard work during her thesis at the INP.

The INP is one of the winners of the photo contest organized by NeuroMarseille/NeuroSchool. The goal of the contest was to reveal the "beauty of life" through images taken in the neuroscience laboratories of AMU. Eight laboratories - INP, INT, IBDM, LNC, INMED, INS, LPC, CRMBM - sent pictures (5 for INP). The first 10 works have been selected and will soon be exhibited in a gallery in Marseille and another in Aix en Provence. Those not selected will appear in the printed catalog of the exhibition.
The INP is proud to announce that, this year, four of its members have had their projects successfully granted by the French National Research agency (ANR - generic call 2021): Pascale Barbier (team 9), Christophe Leterrier (team 7), Emmanuel Nivet (team 6) and Aurélie Tchoghandjian (team 8).
Chiara Bastiancich, Post-doc in the GlioME team presented her ongoing GlioRET project at the European Symposium on Controlled Drug Delivery.
Her poster "Elucidating the tumor resection microenvironment of glioblastoma toward the development of fit-for-purpose local treatments" won over the cogress jury !
Emmanuel Snacel-Fazy, a 2nd year doctoral student in the GlioME team, won the best poster award at yesterday's "Conference Annuelle de L'institut Cancer et Immunologie (ICI)", Thursday 31 March 2022.
His work on the "Remodelling of the glioblastoma immune landscape by smac mimetic GDC-0152" has been appreciated and rewarded. Once again, congratulations!
Dr Romain Appay, pathologist at the Timone Hospital and PhD student in the GioME team, has published a new research paper entitled "Rosette-forming glioneuronal tumours are midline, FGFR1- mutated tumours" in the Neuropathology and Applied Neurobiology journal.
The latest article for NPD team 1 has been published this month into the Journal of Neuroinflammation.
Membrane-type matrix metalloproteinase 5 (MT5-MMP) deficiency in the 5xFAD mouse model of Alzheimer's disease reduces brain neuroinflammation along with amyloidosis, and prevents deficits in synaptic activity and cognition in prodromal stages of the disease. In addition, MT5-MMP deficiency prevents interleukin-1 beta (IL-1β)-mediated inflammation in the peripheral nervous system.
