  1. A new publication is available on "Dual Photothermal and Chemotherapeutic Therapy"
  2. Dominika during her thesis defense
Congratulations to Dominika Pilat who is now a doctor in Neuroscience!

To nicely end 2021 year, Dominika Pilat, student in Neural Plasticity and Degeneration Team (Team 1), successfully defended her thesis on the 16th of December. She gave a very clear, precise and comprehensive presentation highlighting the pivotal role of MT5-MMP in the neuroinflammation in an Alzheimer’s Disease model. The jury was unanimous to underline the great work Dominika accomplished during the four years she has spent at the INP leading to the publication of an article into the Journal of Neuroinflammation in which she is first author.

  3. Best presentation award for Emmanuel Snacel-Fazy

Participating in the virtual conference "Tumor Microenvironment Heterogeneity in Cancer Progression: Challenge or Opportunity", Emmanuel Snacel-Fazy, a 2nd year PhD student in the GlioME team won the prize for the best presentation on the "Remodeling of the glioblstoma immune landscape by smac mimetic GDC-0152".

  4. Pedro Belio Mairal (Neural Plasticity and Degeneration team) at Neurobinar #12

On February 22nd at 1 pm don't miss the next Neurobinar of NeuroMarseille ! You will get a chance to meet Adam Williamson, principal investigator at the INS, Gaelle Alhaddad, 2nd year PhD student at the LNC and Pedro Belio Mairal, 3rd year student in the "Neural Plasticity and Degeneration" team of INP. Gaelle and Pedro will each present the other's thesis topic and Adam will explain his work on "Non-invasive deep brain stimulation in Epilepsy using Temporal Interference".

Within the cycle M&M’s – Muscle Monday Seminars of the Institute’s Myology Centre for Research, on January 17 Michel Khrestchatisky (CNRS Research Director, Director of the Institute for Neurophysiopathology) Co-Founder & Scientific Counsel of Vect-Horus presented the conference entitled “"Development of molecular vectors for targeted delivery of RNAi via receptor-mediated transport".

  6. VECT-HORUS reçoit un financement non dilutif de 1 M€ dans le cadre du dispositif de relance européen EACT-EU
  7. Two recently published papers from the glioME team
  8. Welcome to Guillaume, a new Master 2 student in the Nivet Team!

We are please to welcome Guillaume Benhora-Chabeaux for his 5-month Master internship (2nd year) in the Nivet team. After obtaining a first Master degree in Cognitive Science (MASCO) from the Aix-Marseille University, with the highest honours, Guillaume has enrolled the Master in Neuroscience (cellular and molecular neuroscience). Guillaume will be working on the crosstalk between inflammation and a susceptibility to neurodegeneration using in vitro and in vivo models.

INP & Vect-Horus running against Alzheimer's disease

On december 10th 2022, PINT INP and Vect-Horus members met in the Hippodrome Borély for the "Course des Lumières" organized by Foundation Recherche Alzheimer. It was freezing but together with 600 or something others, they walked 5 km or ran 8 km, to light up the night against Alzheimer's disease and for all patients, carrying a luminous object.
