Dans son édition du vendredi 31 mai 2024, La Provence mettait l'INP à l'honneur dans son dossier sur la maladie d'Alzheimer. Le Pr Mathieu Ceccaldi (Service de Neurologie et Neuropsychologie Adultes & équipe 9) était interrogé sur les nouveaux traitements, pendant que François Devred (équipe 9) et Santiago Rivera (équipe 1) étaient eux interrogés sur les travaux des "six équipes qui bossent à temps plein dans ce "gros" laboratoire français de recherche sur Alzheimer"

Team 6 was pleased to receive the Vaincre Alzheimer Foundation for a short film

The Vaincre Alzheimer foundation came to shoot a short video in our laboratory to explain the progress of our research and to look back on a project funded in 2019 by the foundation that seeks to answer this question: how can we control neuroinflammation to prevent Alzheimer's disease in people carrying a risk factor like APOE4 ?

Welcome to Guillaume, a new Master 2 student in the Nivet Team!

We are please to welcome Guillaume Benhora-Chabeaux for his 5-month Master internship (2nd year) in the Nivet team. After obtaining a first Master degree in Cognitive Science (MASCO) from the Aix-Marseille University, with the highest honours, Guillaume has enrolled the Master in Neuroscience (cellular and molecular neuroscience). Guillaume will be working on the crosstalk between inflammation and a susceptibility to neurodegeneration using in vitro and in vivo models.

Emmanuel Nivet (Team 6) is a new member of the European Scientific Advisory Board

Dr Emmanuel Nivet has been appointed as a new member of the European Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) of a joint organization unifying the Alzheimer Forschung Initiative e.V. (AFI), Germany, Alzheimer Nederland (AN), The Netherlands and Fondation Vaincre Alzheimer (FVA), France. Each of the above organizations is dedicated to funding dementia research in its own country.

Emmanuel (Team 6) was an invited speaker at the French Club of Glial Cells meeting

On October, the 21st, Emmanuel was invited to give a talk during the 2021 meeting organized by the French Club of Glial Cells. Emmanuel had the chance to present the latest and exciting results of the NIVET team by giving a talk during a symposium dedicated on Glial cells in Brain diseases. Emmanuel's talk was entitled: "Human-iPSC-astrocytes reveal a pro-inflammatory axis under the control of the APOE4 genetic risk factor in Alzheimer's disease".
